I think sports are way to political. It's all about who likes who the most or who's fault is it we lost. Just let us play...please. When it comes to classes I believe most are fair. I think having to test to get into a class you need to be in is horrible. What if you are a bad tester...you won't be in the class. Then you get held back in the regular class and learn things you already know. Grades are all the same in classes...usually. I believe we should be graded for our effort and how well we understand it. Not if you just did the homework and got it done. Homework is to show you are learning not if you can copy. If schools do this though than grading needs to be less strick. Meaning you should go over the homework in class, ask questions about the ones you don't know, and then turn it in. School needs to be about learning...not just grades.I wish nutrition was longer. Going from my first class right to the next makes it harder for me to focus or concentrate in my second class. I tend to check the clock way more. Classes are also really long. I feel like they go on for forever. I would take ten minutes shorter. ANYTHING...as long as it is shorter.
Guys sports are given more attention tha girls sports are. They are advertised more in the school, and are seen as more important than girls sports. Many sports are raided with politics. The desks aren't big enough to hold all of our belongings that we need to work with school. Lunch break is WAY too short. Thirty minutes is not enough time to be able to stay after class and get help, study, go somewhare to eat and not have to rush, be able to relax for a little while, and to watch football film. Also,by the time you sit down to eat your lunch after waiting in ridiculously long lines for your food, the bell will end up ringing in a couple of minutes. School is too mapped out. They tell us how many of this and that credits to have. Finals are too ridiculous now. Students that have good enough grades to not have to take their final will end up taking it anyway because they are good students. The new rule with finals has bad qualities because no matter what, these good students who have the grade not to take the test are going to take it anyway. Secondary school is also flawed at Carson High because of the nutrition break. The ten minutes allowed for nutrition is not enough time. This is because by the time someone gets from their class to their locker to get their food or switch binders and books, nutrition is already coming to an end; therefore, leaving no time to eat your food and/or study for the next class without doing this on the run to your next class.
-First off the cheatin' policy is not up to date. Teachers let students cheat on basically everything they want without any real consequence. -The grading policy is based on completion rather than actual knowlegde and understanding of the subject at hand. -Some teachers grade homework much harder and in different ways so it makes it difficult to please all teachers and always know what to do. -Along with trying to get into college and graduating high school the senior project adds an unnecessary amount of stress to seniors lives. The senior projects are designed to apply all of your knowlegde from high school into one project but it really doesn't do that especially since many cheat. -The no grade policy after so many absences is unfair to people who have a good reason to be absent and do all their work even when they're not there. -With school starting so early it makes students more tired and less likely to absorb the information they're learning.-Students should be treated equally by all teachers in terms of encouragement. -Classes should be shorter because many people lose interest after such a long time.
Some problems in secondary education today are that some of the classes that you take will not going to prepare you for what you really experience in reality. Another problem would be that the students that are active in a sport miss class which gets them behind in school. Also being in a bigger society makes it harder to learn because the class sizes have increased. Because of this reason cheating is more likely to happen. A big problem that comes up a lot is that school starts to early and our brains are not fully functioning. Also that the classes are too long and our brains can not take in that much in that amount of time.
it is too regulated by the government to conform everybody to be the same instead of being creative. The grading polocy is based on the top 3% of studens what about all the other students that are slower or are having a harder time. there needs to be a longer luch to give our minds more nutrients to learn better. We need to have less homework so it can give you more time to asses the homewrok and give better work turned in, istead of just getting homework and spitting it out. School needs to teach more street skills that you will need in real life because when will you need to learn how to factor a equation. you need to get the job instead.
-FOr one, school forces kids who think school is terrible to still attend. This effects them for the rest of their lives-Some kids are more stressed about grades than actually getting the cirriculum-The football team gets all the money for sports-boys sports get more attention and press than girls-Sometimes mixes kids that want to learn with those who don't-SOme of the classes you have to take arent required for the career path you want to take- Bad transportating system (not enough busses)-math-school starts too early and dont concentrate in A1 and B2
School starts to damn early!!! School stiffles creativity. It conforms children. it premotes compotition and hostility between shcool mates. It is far to stressful than is healthy. There is not enough emphasis on music and other fine arts. Some are just extremely pointless. To many teachers are incompotent of their jobs. Grades do not provide proper evaluation of knowledge and understanding. Homework is outlandishly pointless. Bathrooms are not properly cared for!! Schools need better funding! School is not personal enough, you need to be able to do what you want to do. Tests dont effectively evaluate our understanding. School takes to much time away from things that will actually matter in life.
There are a lot of things that are wrong with a secondary education for example there are the teacher aids because they don’t really do much except hang around all lazily like. Another thing wrong with a secondary education is that there is a lot of cheating going on in the classes and no one gets caught, the teachers don’t pay any attention, or they don’t do any thing, or my favorite they don’t give them a hard enough punishment except a small essay about how cheating is wrong. The final reason that there is something wrong with a secondary education is that most of the teachers don't care don't want top teach they are just waiting for retirement.
There are many things that i BELIEVE are wrong with education. For example, the school should focus more on making students want to come to school to learn something rather then to come "hang out" with their friends. Also, Teachers should only teach what students are really going to need in the future. Instead of having a history class, carson high should teach more about current events. We shouldnt have to learn about something that happened in the past, we need to be aware of whats going on in the present and what may occur in the future. Teachers tend to get lost during their lessons, so i think that they should each have a student assistant. Student assistents could not only be used to help the teacher through the lesson but to watch the students as well, students now a days find it easier to cheat because the teacher is doing something else and not paying attention to all the students.
I personaly do not like high school at all. The thing that makes me the most angry is some of the teachers. Out of the six theachers I have I really only like three of them. Most teachers only assign busy work or work that is meaningless. Some homework that is assigned is not covered in class and I find it hard to complete the assignments, becasuse I am left to teach myself. School sports are very selective, having tryouts to choose only the best. School should be about learning and teamwork not on who is better than who. This can repel students from trying to play in school sports. Senior projects, let me tell you, these projects are a little bit ridiculous. I see how it could benifit the student, but it adds pressure to the student. Colleges will not look at your senior project. They only look at your GPA and test scores. SO WHY DO WE DO SENIOR PROJECTS???20% of your grade? Are you joking me? If you worked hard for your A and you are just not a good test taker and you panic and not do as well on the final your hard earned A just went down the toilete. Sanitation, I feel so discussed with the cleanliness of CHS. I wont even use the bathrooms. Everytime I walk in there I ask myself....' Its like a cave in here, why is everything wet?"
-school starts too early-we dont have enough classes-having so much work makes students lazy because they have lots of work that they dont put effort into. If students could have less assignments that they could put more effort into.-not enough emphasis on classes that aren't required like art classes-
A lot of things are wrong with secondary education; however, I shall endeavor to list as many as possible and explain why they are problems. One of the many problems with school is the disgusting cafeteria food that is almost impossible to stomach. The food looks foul and tastes even worse for example the school’s burritos look like someone took a tortilla, threw a handful of mud onto it, and then wrapped it up; therefore, you can guess that the flavor is utterly repulsive and should never enter someone’s stomach.
Some problems education today are that as time goes by more and more students seem be less intrested in coming to school. School is more of a must that a want. Most of that is because teachers are boring and dont keep the students awake. Sometimes dudents will sleep throught out the whole lecture that when it comes to lecture time students arent prepared for the test so often times cheating occurs. Cheating is seen more often now than before because more technology is offered to students and is much more easy to get on the internet and get answeres for ANYTHING. That is something teachers cant control unless they have every assignments are hand written in class.(im not done :) )
we learn things that dont help us in the real world. maybe in college but it doesnt teach you how to build a house or how to pay bills. they teach you how to graph parabolas. when am i doing to use that in my life? we need to be put in practical classes that teach us real life skills but we also need to have math classes and english classes. there needs to belines that define cheating. i think for the most part it depends on if the teacher thinks it cheating or not. i dont think teachers should just turn their head in the hall and act like they didnt hear a kid use profanity or dont see two people all over eachother. teachers are the problem. they allow somethings in the halls that if you were in their class they would send you to the office. they need to stop confusing students and either let you do what you want like youd do in the halls or to punish you and make you follow the rules like they do in class. i think we should be graded on our individual effort and completion. its not fair to grade someone based on how someone else did. we are all individuals and some people are really trying as hard as they can and are getting a failing grade. thats not right. i think hoeschooling is the best option. we just need to get rid of the school system and teachers and just let students learn. we would finish our workfor one day in 3 hours. and after that we would go to work which would stimulate the economy and after taht go hang out with friends. we learn, contribute to society, and socialize. that is what i think would fix this whole problem. you would be able to graduate when you wanted so its all on how dedicated you are to your lessons. we would still have colleges but you couldnt go until you passed homeschooling and you had to be under 30 to be able to enroll in college. i think the best way to fix the school system is break it down to its foundationand start from scratch.
First of all, school should start at a later time. This would limit the amounts of tardiness and absence. I think more teachers should follow their agenda-what's the point of planning ahead ? Some teachers need to focus on the well-being of the student's learning and not just trying to always move along.
Differences in teaching styles from one teacher to the next specifically when a student teacher is introduced into a class room, which causes confusion and inconsistency.School becomes a punishment when we are forced to take specific classes that we have no interest in, the system should offer a larger variety of classes and reexamine what they require so that students can take classes that will prepare them for the carriers they will peruse.
The grades in some classes are ridiculous because they are based on the teachers opinion rather than facts. Some teachers don't know how to stay on task. Some teacher play favorites with their students and give them better grades.Public education is a reward and a threat system based on A's and F's.Our school doesn't enforce their rules as good as they should.Either get rid of the rules or start enforcing them.some teachers give out homework just because they feel like they should, when in reality it is of no importance. The school system that we have is based on grades rather than teaching. Some teachers just don't care anymore and should retire. Most of the stuff we learn in school is useless in our life. When will i need to know trigonometric functions? School starts to early in the day. if it was just an hour later than more people would be focused and actually learn more. School is mostly based on how much your willing to give up your personality. the kid who does things exactly the way teachers tell him to will get a better grade than the original student. The classes are to long to focus after the first hour. everything at the end of class is pointless because our attention spans aren't amazing.
